It gives me great honor to represent Chicago Turkish American Chamber of Commerce as its president at the time of its conception. As the newest organization bringing together Turkish American businessmen, and businesswomen, our aim will be to provide central ground whereby concerns, aims, and the aspirations of Turkish Americans are brought to light and to resolution.

As immigrants, or the children of immigrants of this great melting pot, our stories are many and varied, but no different than many others from around the globe that have made America their home. Our Turkish community is one of great success in the land of opportunity. We represent a community, that according to statistics, in comparison to the overall population and to the other ethnic and minority groups, one of the highest levels of education, income and social integrity in the American culture.

Since the signing of the first contract by human beings by the Hittites, to the first use of money in human history by the Lydian’s, all springing from the heartlands of Anatolia, today’s modern day Turkey, we are very integrated to idea of commerce. Bringing together Turkish heritage with that of American ingenuity, we believe we are presented with the best of the tools from both worlds.

Commerce not only enriches economies between people, but it establishes a bridge, or a platform to exist, bringing cultures, faiths, and ideas, to live with respect and understanding. Metaphorically speaking, Chicago Turkish American Chamber of Commerce will act as this platform.

We will draw our strength from our community, with utmost integrity, humility, and transparency. In the coming months, CTACC will be holding induction ceremony, bringing the newest business members to our organization. Our plans will also include holding a business expo in Chicago, thereby increasing the business traffic between Turkey and US.

Politically, CTACC, will also lobby on behalf of its community, in local and Federal governments acting its democratic rights representing the concerns of Turkish Americans. Furthermore, for our social obligations to our communities we plan provide, scholarships, dinners, dialogue conferences, and support to the less fortunate. We are part of the social fabric of this great nation and with alacrity we will share ourselves to demonstrate our gratitude.

Once again I am grateful for the opportunity to be acting as your president. I look forward to our success. Thanking all in advance, I remain

Sincerely yours,
CTACC
